Ymens and NEC Corporation - partnership for developing trustworthy cloud services for Romania


Ymens, the leading Romanian cloud company, and NEC Corporation announced a partnership to develop government cloud services for Romania. Combining Ymens’ in-depth expertise in providing cloud solutions and services in the local market and NEC’s robust, secure and proven cloud platform technologies will result in the development of trustworthy cloud services for governmental institutions, which comply with the European Commission’s Trusted Cloud Europe framework.

Under this partnership, Ymens and NEC are building out their Software as a Service (SaaS) platform to offer specialized public sector solutions for boosting service delivery levels for citizens while helping national and local government departments in the cost cutting process. The SaaS platform will be developed with NEC’s Cloud Brokerage Suite, which is already used by more than 20 telecom operators worldwide to provide cloud services to their customers. 

Ymens, as the first cloud broker in Romania, has provided a wide array of cloud solutions to address specific needs of both the public and private sectors in the country. A variety of those solutions, as well as other government cloud services, will be delivered from the new integrated SaaS platform.

Microsoft Gold Collaboration and Content Competency Partner


Ymens launched the collaboration and communication solutions at the end of 2013, becoming the only company in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe that offers Microsoft solutions hosted on its own platform, and also as an Office 365 reseller. The Collaboration Suite offered by Ymens includes the most recent versions of Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange and Lync. Becoming a Gold Competency Partner, Ymens receives, in less than one year from the partnership established with Microsoft, the official certification validating the expertise gained in the sector of communication and content solutions.

The process of developing a Microsoft expertise center inside Ymens started once the communication and collaboration solutions were introduced within the platform and went on with the launch of Ymens CRM, based on the functionalities of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The Gold-level Certification is a new important step taken by the cloud company in the strategic partnership with Microsoft on the road of turning the Ymens team into one of the main national centers of Microsoft expertise.

Ymens is using IBM Managed Data Center, the most modern data center in South – Eastern Europe, accessing an infrastructure developed and running at the highest standards of security and performance. 

In the attempt to build the cloud offer on a robust IT infrastructure, Ymens selected in November 2012 IBM’s Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), which makes every service available anytime, anywhere, along with high security standards offered by the IBM Managed Data Center operated by IBM Romania.
